My Surrealism / fantasy oil paintings ~ realms of the mind ~

My fantasy oil paintings~ Dreams ~ from the past

We each accumulate responses to the world about us, what we can call feelings or ‘feeling responses’. Artists do seem to be people who feel things more strongly than others do.This set of feeling responses constitutes their inner realm of vision. The artist seeks to reconcile inner vision with outer reality by blending elements of both in their work. This represents a harmonization effort on the part of the artist to combine and reconcile elements from both worlds.

Peter Morrell:
"Without this inner vision any artist appears impotent, with little of interest to say, no matter how techncompetent they might be. In this sense, the artist is gr
eat almost to the exact degree to which they are able to express and articulate their inner vision. They are great if they succeed in doing that. They are not great if they fail to do that. Mostly, great artists do both: they create an alternative reality fully formed from their own inner realm of vision, and they successfully blend it with certain elements drawn from the outer physical realm."
